  • Heart Attack

Heart attack is a serious thing. I know because I had it 4 times. Last time, I was all alone in America. My whole family was vacationing in India. No problem, I survived again. Each time I survive a heart attack, I reward myself with an overseas trip. silly

I look forward to heart attacks. Even if I die, I'll have no regrets -- I am already 71. So what the heck? Oh wait, can a person regret when he is dead???

  • Shoban's India Page

Nostalgia has struck me. After living in America for 30 long years, I am suddenly home sick. I miss Hindi moves. I miss Bollywood. I miss cricket. I miss the Himalayas. I miss the beaches of Goa. I miss genuine Indian food, snacks, and desserts. I miss the Indian beauties in Indian clothing. I even miss the over-crowded trains and chaotic traffic in India!

Things that I genuinely miss, which might seem strange or funky to somebody born and brought up in the Western world, have been collected and presented in my latest Web site called Shoban's India Page. Before making any adverse comments, please remember that I was born and brought up in India and lived there for 40 years before immigrating to the United States. And I have lived in the US for 30 years. So I know the good and bad of both countries ... almost certainly better than you do.

I am proud to present India, as I remember it, in the following Web site that I published only two days ago (on Dec. 23, 2011).

    Shoban's India Page

If you are curious, please check it out and give me some feedback. If you are Indian and you are about my age, I am sure you will love it (wishful thinking)!

  • Get out and see world

Are you afraid of leaving your familiar environment and see what the world looks like? Are you afraid of not knowing any other language besides English? Are you afraid of foods that you are not familiar with? Are you afraid of not knowing the metric system? Are you afraid of cultures that are way different from yours? Do you hate people who are not Christians? Do you think America is the best country in the world? If you answered "Yes" to all these questions, you must be an American.

Dear fellow Americans. Please wake up. The world is changing very fast. America is fast losing its supremacy. You better get used to it. Know today's world. Just graduating from high school does not make you competitive in today's world. Learn science and math, learn world geography, learn at least some history of other fast developing countries like China and India. Otherwise those countries will soon rule over you.

I want America to stick to its supremacy over the rest of the world. But for that America has to change its attitude towards the rest of world. Other countries are coming up very fast. Because they do NOT take everything "easy". "Enjoy life" is not their motto. "Work hard, be competitive" is their motto. We should adopt that motto too if we want to stay ahead of the other countries.

Traveling to countries outside of USA may help you to stay ahead in the game. At least, see first hand what is happening in the world outside the USA!

  • Iguazu Falls

    (Brazilian side)

Iguazu falls, Iguassu falls, or Iguaçu falls are the widest waterfalls of the world. (The Portuguese name of the falls is Cataratas do Iguaçu and the Spanish name is Cataratas del Iguazú.) Located in the border of Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay the Iguazu River falls from an upper level to a lower level spanning a 2.7 kilometer width and having 245 (275 according to some sources) individual falls creating an awesome view both from the ground and from the air. Along with Niagara falls and Victoria falls, Iguazu falls is the most spectacular falls of the world awaiting recognition as one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature. The biggest and most spectacular of the Iguazu falls is known as the Devil's Throat (Garganta do Diabo in Portuguese, Garganta del Diablo in Spanish). The falls are shared by Iguazu National Park (Argentina) and Iguaçu National Park (Brazil). I visited both the Argentine side and the Brazilian side of Iguazu falls on November 27, 2010. This video shows the Brazilian side of the falls.

You can see the video of Iguazu Falls, Argentine side here.

  • A Fantastic Webcam

Do you use webcam? Recently I bought a fantastic webcam at a very reasonable and affordable price from Amazon.com. It is called Logitech Webcam Pro 9000. I was so happy with it that I wanted to share my experience with everybody. So I made two videos with it and uploaded them to my YouTube channel located at http://www.youtube.com/kimbhut65 . The first one was a "Test" video and the second one was a "Review" video. In the second one along with my review of the product, I used some special effects created with the Logitech software that comes with the webcam. I think it is a cool video. So I want to share it with others in Xanga. Please take a look.

What do you think? Cool or what? I shall appreciate your comments/questions.

You can see many more interesting videos made by me in my YouTube channel at:

Currently I am running a series of travel videos shot during my recent trip to China and Hong Kong. Please do stop by at the above mentioned URL and take a look at some of these. I hope to welcome you there.

    Thank you.

  • Xanga is all screwed up

The weblog editor does not work. There is no help available. You cannot contact the "bosses." I paid Life Membership fees many years ago, soon after Xanga was born. Now I regret it. I made an investment in a very wrong place.

Long live Blogspot, Facebook, and Twitter. Let Xanga find peace on the "other side."
